Elmer A. Yoder, 71, of Topeka, (district: 38), died at 8:15 pm on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at his residence. He was born on January 11, 1951, in Topeka to Abe and Sarah (Kauffman) Yoder. On November 18, 1976, in Shipshewana he married Joanna Gingerich, she survives.

Survivors in addition to his wife are five sons, Dennis (Waneta) Yoder of Topeka, Melvin (Rosanne) Yoder of Shipshewana, Kevin (Rebecca) Yoder of Sugarcreek, OH, David (Ruth) Yoder of Topeka, Jerry (Marilyn) Yoder of Topeka; two daughters, Lucy (Steve) Lehman of Middlebury, Kristina (Joel) Miller of Millersburg; 21 grandchildren; three brothers, John Yoder of Shipshewana, Mose (Linda) Yoder of Shipshewana, Amos (Carma) Yoder of Rockford, IL; two sisters, Mary Gingerich of Shipshewana, Ida (Eldon) Schwartz of Etna Green.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Elmer had been a farmer for most of his life and in retirement worked for several years at E&S Sales, Shipshewana. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church, being ordained as a minister in 1989 and then as the Bishop in 1996.

Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Thursday November 24, and all day Friday, November 25, at the family's residence, 8330 W. 200 S. Topeka. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Saturday, November 26, also at the family's residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Glen Yoder and the home ministers. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery, Shipshewana. Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury is in charge of arrangements.

Yoder, Emma J. Yoder
February 10, 1942 - March 25, 2022

Kalona, Iowa – Emma J. Yoder, daughter of John S. and Lena (Miller) Yoder. was born on February 10, 1942, in Kalona, Iowa. She died in her home in rural Kalona on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the age of 80 years 1 month, 15 days, following a battle with cancer.

In her youth she was baptized and became a member of the Old Order Amish Church, where she remained a faithful member until her death. On September 19, 1974, she was united in marriage to Cephas C. Yoder and living in matrimony of 47 years.

Emma is survived by her husband, Cephas, three sons and four daughters. Betty Sue (Nelson) Borntrager of Carbondale, IL, Rosetta (Tobias) Miller of Kalona, Wallace (Wilma) Yoder of Sigourney, Vernon (Linda) Yoder, Wilma (Ira) Miller, Atlee (Sadie) Yoder, Linda (Cephas Ray) Yoder all of Kalona area. Two sisters, Ida Yoder of Kalona and Nina (William) Borntrager of Millersburg, IN. Two brothers, Simon (Mary Susan) Yoder, Dennis (Judith) Yoder all of Kalona, brother-in-law Christy (Katie) Yoder of Centerville, MI, two step sisters, Martha (Lonnie) Yoder of Arthur, IL. and Elizabeth Ann (Roy) Beachy of Kalona, two step brothers Daniel (Dena) Schrock of Michigan and Jerry (Magdalena) Schrock of Kalona; six step sisters-in-law, Edna, Nancy, Viola and Lizzie Ann and Susie Schrock all of Illinois and Esta Schrock of Florida.

She was preceded in death by parents, three sisters and spouses; Lydia and John Borntrager, Amelia and Jess Yoder, Anna Mae and Lester Coblenz, one sister Mary Yoder an infant sister, three brothers, Ruben Yoder, Albert and Cleola Yoder and Henry Yoder, an infant brother, brother-in-law Willard Yoder, six step brothers, Fred, Henry, Edwin, David and Samuel Schrock.

The Family wish to thank everyone for their thoughtfulness, presence, prayers, food and support during her illness and death. Your love and support will long be remembered.

A Funeral Service will be held 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Cephas Yoder Residence 2639 520th Street SW, Kalona, Iowa. Burial will in the North Gingerich Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm and Monday from 10:00 to 7:00 pm at the Cephas Yoder Residence.

Yoder, Gladys Marie Weaver
December 17, 1929 - September 7, 2022

Gladys Marie Yoder passed into her eternal home on September 7, 2022. She was born December 17, 1929, to Albert and Alma (Loucks) Weaver and lived her entire life on CR 3, north of Wakarusa. She attended 12 years at Wakarusa Schools, graduating in 1947.

On June 6, 1948, she married Maurice O. Yoder at Prairie Street Mennonite Church in Elkhart. He passed away January 2008.
Surviving children, Kathleen (Stan) Kulp, Elkhart, Steven (Sherry) Yoder, South Bend, Susan (Dr. Mark) Klaassen, Syracuse and Bradley (Cheryl) Yoder, Nappanee, 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. Also surviving, a sister, Helen Bontrager and nieces, Chris (Ted) Lantz and Cherri (Steve) Klotz, all of Wakarusa.

She retired from Elkhart General Hospital in 1992, after spending 30 years in nursing.
A long time member at Olive Mennonite Church, she served as song leader for 50 years, organist and pianist, taught Sunday School and summer Bible School, and served on the food committee. She also volunteered at The Depot and Ten Thousand Villages in Goshen. Currently, she is a member of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church.

In the 1960’s, she formed the ladies quartet, “Sounds of Joy”, giving many sacred programs in churches and retirement homes throughout Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Florida. They also sang barbershop harmony at the Elkhart County Fair, Amish Acres, Nappanee Apple Festival and other clubs and social gatherings. Their last program was August 2016.
She loved being outside enjoying God’s creation – mowing her lawn, taking care of many flower gardens, or tending to her blue birds or hummingbirds.
Her greatest joy was being with family for the fun, food, fellowship and all those many games that were played.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Saturday, September 10, at Rieth Rohrer Ehret Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa. A private family burial will be at Olive (West) Cemetery. Friends may visit with family one hour prior to the 3 p.m. service on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, 64901 CR 11, Goshen. Pastor Wes Bontreger will officiate. Yoder, Harley J.
December 14, 1933 - February 5, 2022

Harley J. Yoder, 88, of Goshen, passed away, Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Avalon Village, Ligonier, where he was recently admitted.

He was born December 14, 1933 in Hutchinson, Kansas to John I and Edna (Yoder) Yoder.

In 1955, he married Barbara Weirich, who preceded him in death in 2000. He later married Anna Sue Troyer in 2004. She died in 2019.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherry (David) Faulkner of Goshen and Sandra (Troy) Snider of Milford; a son, Dewayne (Brenda) Yoder of Goshen; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Crystal Brewster; three sisters, Anna Beachy, Elizabeth Yoder and Mary Petersheim; and five brothers, Levi, Enos, Andy, Amos and Moses Yoder.

Harley was a Hall of Fame owner, trainer and driver in the Harness Racing industry. He was a past President of the Elkhart County Trotting and Pacing Horse Association. Harley was a lifelong member of the United States Trotting Association and the Indiana Standard Bred Association

Visitation will be Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. There will also be visitation on Friday, February 11, beginning at 9 a.m. prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Pastor Rich Troyer, former pastor at Middlebury Church of the Brethren, will officiate.

Burial will follow at Ivan Cemetery, Middlebury.

Yoder, James D.
July 28, 2007 - March 6, 2022

James D. Yoder, 14, of Fredericksburg, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, March 6, 2022 after a suspected Epileptic Seizure.

James was born in Wooster on July 28, 2007 to Daniel A. and Miriam Kay (Keim) Yoder and was in the eighth grade at John R. Lea Middle School.

Surviving are his parents, Daniel and Miriam; brothers and sisters, Andrew, Alan, Marion, Mark, Marie and Malinda and grandparents, Aden and Malinda Keim of Fredericksburg and Edna Yoder of Orrville.

Services will be Wednesday, March 9th at the William Schlabach residence, 8912 State Route 83, Holmesville with Bishop Wayne Yoder officiating. Burial will be in the Yoder Cemetery. Friends may after 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the Schlabach residence. Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements.

Yoder, Jay Harold "Sarge"
June 10, 1927 - April 14, 2022

Jay Harold “Sarge” Yoder, 94, of Oskaloosa, Kansas, formerly of Goshen, died Thursday, April 14, 2022, surrounded by family.

He was born June 10, 1927 in Harper, Kansas to Stephen and Esther (Lehman) Yoder.

On December 29, 1951 he married Patricia L. Shellenberger in Montpelier, Ohio. They were blessed with 44 years of marriage prior to her death in 1995.

Along with his parents and wife, Jay was preceded in death by his siblings, Rueben Clifford Yoder, and Florence Lucille Detrow; and a grandson, Neil Yoder in 1994.

Survivors include three children, Beth Yoder Jensen, Barbara Yoder, and Steve Yoder, all of Kansas; and seven grandchildren.

Harold taught physical education and coached at Goshen College from 1955 until 1987. The “Sarge” Yoder baseball field honors his dedicated service. He promoted tennis in the community by stringing and selling rackets.

Harold was a long-time member of College Mennonite Church.

Visitation will take place Sunday, April 24, 2022, from 3 to 5 p.m. at College Mennonite Church.

A memorial service will be held Monday, April 25, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the church.

Private burial will be in Violett Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be directed to Goshen College International Student Aid Fund.

Yoder, Jerrica Angeline
January 10, 2022 - January 11, 2022

Jerrica Angeline Yoder was born January 10 at DuPont Hospital in Ft Wayne. She died January 11 in the arms of her mother. Her life here on earth was but a vapor having lived only 25 hours.

She is survived by her parents, Eli and Judy Yoder of LaGrange; two sisters, Jennica and Kianna Yoder and a brother, Layton Yoder all of LaGrange; grandparents, Abie and Jemima Yoder of Topeka and John and Mahala Mast of Crossville, TN; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Proceeding her in death was a sister Kaylene Rose Yoder; one uncle, Emmanuel Yoder; two aunts Lizzie and Patricia Yoder; and a cousin, Devon Mast.

There was a private burial on Sunday, January 16 at the Rosewood Church Cemetery, Shipshewana.

January 18, 1937 - November 29, 2022

K. Marlene Yoder, 85, of Middlebury, passed away at 1:56 am, on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Goshen Hospital, after a brief illness. She was born on January 18, 1937 in Union, IA to Quentin and Edith (Yoder) Yoder. On November 3, 1956 in Forks Mennonite Church she married Mylin Yoder, he passed away March 13, 1998.

Surviving are two daughters, Yvonne (John) Buller of Goshen, Janelle (Sherlin) Miller of Middlebury; son, Jeremy (Shannon) Yoder of Middlebury; seven grandchildren, Braden Yoder, Brooklyn Yoder, Brinley Yoder, Brandon Buller, Justin Buller, Carson Miller, Preston Miller; three great-grandchildren, Luella Buller, Isabelle Buller, Frances Buller.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Brian and Robin Yoder, three brothers, Wallace, Donald, and Maurice Yoder; a sister, Mertice Bontrager.

Marlene was a homemaker and member of First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. She had been very active with her husband in selecting worship music for church services; she had volunteered and served as the director for many years with church worship committees. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was very faithful in attending their activities.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, December 2, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the 10:00 am funeral service on Saturday, December 3, at First Mennonite Church, 203 E Lawrence Street Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Pastor Phil Yoder. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Topeka. Memorials may be given to Middlebury Food Pantry.

February 14, 1987 - December 13, 2022

Kristina Marie Yoder, 35, of Wolcottville, (district 23-1), died on Tuesday, December 13 [2022] at the Sedona Wellness Retreat, Sedona, AZ, following a year-long battle with cancer. She was born on February 14, 1987, in LaGrange, to Daniel Jay and Frieda (Mast) Bontrager. On October 5, 2006, in Rome City, she married Jay Yoder, he survives.

Survivors in addition to her husband are three sons, Joshua Aaron Yoder, Ryan Daniel Yoder, Benjamin Lynn Yoder all at home; her parents, Daniel and Frieda Bontrager of Rome City; four sisters, Juanita (Dale) Miller of Wolcottville, Linda (Omer) Miller of Rome City, Marilyn (Wayne) Nisley of Millersburg, Jolene (Myron) Miller of Wawaka; brother, Duane Bontrager of Kendallville; 23 nieces and nephews; grandmother, Juanita Mast of Rome City.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Perry Mast and Joe and Ida Mae Bontrager.

Kristina was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Yoder, LaVerne Ruth Zehr
August 26, 1938 - December 14, 2022

LaVerne Ruth Zehr Yoder, Early Childhood Educator and Leader, 84, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on August 26, 1938, to the late Pastor Elias M. Zehr and Martha Widrick Zehr in Lowville, New York.

LaVerne graduated from the Lowville Academy and Central School in 1956 in up-state New York. In 1963 she graduated from Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA, with a BS degree in Elementary Education.

She was united in marriage in 1960 to Lee M. Yoder, formerly of Belleville, Pennsylvania for 62 years, who survives. LaVerne is survived by her three children, Lawrence R. (Bonnie Nyce) of Broadway, VA; Lela Faye Yoder of Harrisonburg, VA; and Lawson F. (Mary Pimentel) of Harrisonburg, VA; seven grandchildren, Janae Yoder, Jordyn Yoder, Patrick W (Navy) Graber, Liesl (Seth) Dandurand , Larissa Graber, Sophia Yoder and Valentina Yoder; eight siblings Eileen (Elmer) Lehman, Pauline Myers, Ralph (Betty) Zehr, Milton (Dorothy) Zehr, Margaret (Emanual) Gingerich, Carolyn (Milford) Lyndaker, Joseph (Malinda) Zehr, Donna (Gerry) Keener; and two sisters-in-law Pearl Zehr and Pauline Zehr.

LaVerne was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Zehr and Walter Zehr, one sibling-in-law, Homer Myers an infant sister, Judith Marie Zehr and nephew Eric Zehr.

As an Early Childhood Educator and Leader, LaVerne taught at Belleville Mennonite Elementary School in Belleville, PA, where she met her future husband. She taught at A. M. Kulp Elementary School in Hatfield, PA; Pleasant Valley Elementary School in Harrisonburg, VA and Grottoes Elementary and South River Elementary Schools, Grottoes, VA. She created two new American Kindergarten Schools from scratch at The MISR Language School (2000-2001) and the Narmer American College (2001-2008) both in Cairo, Egypt and she supervised the Early Childhood Grades at The American Schools in Egypt and at The American School of Vietnam (February 2012-2013) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

In her professional career, LaVerne taught Elementary School for 25 years in Rockingham County (VA) Schools and for ten years outside of Rockingham County, with 35 years of educational work and early childhood leadership in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Cairo, Egypt and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Her educational work and leadership were featured in Living, an every-home paper, and published in Harrisonburg, VA, in 1998. She advised parents: "When parents have given their children lots of experiences before kindergarten, then they come (into the classroom) with big bright eyes and lots of curiosity". She encouraged parents to "help the children to be aware of their surroundings. Point out what they are seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, tasting—talking to them from earliest days."

LaVerne loved to travel, enjoy new experiences, and explore historical sites, and she always held a welcoming spirit with everyone she met. Together with her husband, Lee, LaVerne traveled to 42 countries and maintained her international contacts with teachers and parents.

LaVerne loved the out-of-doors: boating on rivers, identifying wild animals (on a Safari in Kenya Masai Mara) and tame animals (for several years she raised registered Shih Tzu puppies); and hiking mountains. Of note, she hiked Old Rag Mountain in Virginia, Mount Sinai in Egypt for an early morning excursion to reach the top by the Easter Sunday Sunrise in 2001, and the "Great Wall" in China in 2013.

LaVerne was a skilled educator, gifted mother, creative hostess, voracious reader, talented home chef, green-thumb gardener and hobby florist. Her family, including siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews were always a high priority for her, in the context of her Christian Faith, life and service. She was a reader of the writings by Father Richard Rohr, Franciscan Friar, in his Daily Meditation Center for Action and Contemplation. Summer vacations with family and friends were a joy for her, including trips to North Myrtle Beach, SC., and family travels, which she planned for many local and international settings. She was active in her three children's development with positive affirmation and encouragement while supporting her husband in his educational leadership work in the United States, Cairo, Egypt and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

A Community Reception for Educators, Family, Friends and Neighbors will be held at the Kyger Funeral Home, in Harrisonburg, Friday, January 13, 2023 at 7 pm and A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Park View Mennonite Church, 1600 North College Avenue in Harrisonburg, on Saturday, January 14, 2023, 9:45 am with a Lunch to follow in the Church Fellowship Hall. To benefit and affirm future educational teachers and leaders, memorial contributions may be made to "The Lee M and LaVerne Zehr Yoder Endowed Scholarship" at Eastern Mennonite University, 1200 Park Road, Harrisonburg, VA 22802-9928.

LeRoy J. Yoder, 60, of Topeka, (district: 29-4), died unexpectedly at 11:06 am on Monday, November 7, [2022] at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, following a brief illness. He was born on August 18, 1962, in Three Rivers, MI, to Tobias L. and Treva Jane (Bontrager) Yoder. On April 7, 1983, in Topeka, he married Ida Mae Beechy, she survives.

Survivors in addition to his wife are three daughters, Alma (Enos) Bontrager of Topeka, Kathryn (Jeremiah) Yutzy of Sturgis, MI, Kristina Yoder (special friend Mark Nissley) at home; five sons, Toby (Amy) Yoder of Bremen, Glen (Whitney) Yoder of Sturgis, MI, Lamar (Elizabeth) Yoder of White Pigeon, MI, Ernest (Anna) Yoder of Wolcottville, LaVern (Marlys) Yoder of Syracuse; 13 grandchildren; father and stepmother, Tobias (Edna) Yoder of North Vernon; three sisters, Marlene (Ferman) Hershberger of Nottawa, MI, Clara (Amos) Wickey of Mendon, MI, Rosalie (Davey) Wickey of Colon, MI; four brothers, Devon (Sarah) Yoder of Millersburg, Lamar (Mary Fern) Yoder, Daniel (Sue) Yoder both of Colon, MI, Melvin (Kathryn) Yoder of Topeka; brother-in-law, Lee Schmucker of Colon, MI.

Yoder, Mae E. Yoder
January 13, 1935 - September 8, 2022

Mae E. Yoder, age 87, Nappanee, passed away at 1:54 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her children singing hymns. She was born January 13, 1935 in Nappanee to Eli and Drusilla (Gerber) Yoder. On April 24, 1955 she married Amzie N. Yoder at Maple Lawn Mennonite Church. He preceded her in death April 13, 2022.

Mae was a member of the Berea Christian Fellowship. Mae was also involved with her husband, Amzie, in various mission organizations and The Gideons Auxiliary. She was the heart of the family and thrived on being where the action was. No person was a stranger in their home. People from all walks of life felt loved and accepted and never left hungry.

Surviving are her children, Sharon Yoder, Nappanee, Deborah (David) Yoder, Nappanee, Mark (Barb) Yoder, Syracuse, Timothy (Ruth) Yoder, Bourbon, James (Gladys) Yoder, Nappanee, Esther (Brent) Hochstetler, Nappanee; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-granddaughter; siblings, Tressie Slabaugh, Indianapolis, Eli J. November 18, 1926 - March 6, 2022

Mark Yoder, 95, a resident of Fairmount Homes, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022.

He was married 72 years to Alice Martin Yoder. Born in Morgantown, he was the son of the late David S. and Emma Stoltzfus Yoder.

Mark was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Goodville Mennonite Church where he had served as a deacon. Earlier in life he had been a member of the Young Farmers, was a 4-H Leader, and a board member of the ReUzit Shop in Morgantown. He enjoyed riding, motorcycle, four wheelers and horses. One of his greatest joys in life was spending weekends at the cabin with the family.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Galen J. husband of Marian Reiff Yoder of Lititz, and Glenn M. husband of Anita Denlinger Yoder of New Holland; two daughters, Brenda wife of Lester Bowman of Stevens, and Lucinda Ann wife of the late Robert Landis of Ephrata; 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and two sisters, Julia Yoder of New Holland, and Dorcas Rolon of Hatfield.

He was preceded in death by a grandson Jeremy Lee Yoder, and by sisters, Ruth Stauffer, Phebe Bell and Sarah Scott.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 10, at 11:00 A.M. at the Goodville Mennonite Church, 1556 Main Street, East Earl, PA with Pastors Bruce Sauder and Kelly Martin officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. A Viewing will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Fairmount Homes, 333 Wheatridge Drive, Ephrata, PA.

June 21, 1966 - August 27, 2022

Marvin Ray Yoder, age 56, of Avon, Illinois passed away peacefully after an extended battle of health issues and several strokes. He died in Mexico at 7:50 a.m. (PDT) on Saturday, August 27, 2022. He was born in Stuarts Draft, VA on June 21, 1966 to Norman A. and Verna Yoder.

On March 10 of 1988, he was united in marriage to Laura Eicher. They shared the joys and sorrows of life for 34 years, 5 months, and 17 days. He faithfully served as a minister at the Swan Lake Church.

Leaving to mourn his departure are his wife Laura, and her children. Kenneth - 33, (Edna) of Clayton, IL. Darlene - 32, of Sebree, KY. Mary - 29, of Hillsboro, IN. Eldon - 24, (Darlene) of Avon, IL. Joanne - 31, Wayne - 27, Esther - 26, Kevin - 22, Eunice - 21, Nathanael - 19, Edith - 15, Joseph - 13, and Titus - 11, all of the home, and 6 grandchildren. Also Surviving are his mother, Verna Yoder, 11 siblings, father and mother-in-law, Levi and Leona Eicher, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death are his father, Norman A., his son Leonard Paul, one brother-in-law, one niece, one nephew, and one great-nephew.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 3, from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Siloam Springs Amish Mennonite School in Clayton, IL. Funeral services will be on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at 10:00 in the morning at the Siloam Springs Amish Mennonite Church.

Burial will follow in the Siloam Springs Amish Mennonite Cemetery.

Mary E. Yoder, of Nappanee, age 86, died at 10:49am on January 10, 2022 at Goshen General Hospital. She was born on June 28, 1935 to Harvey and Fannie (Slabaugh) Farmwald in Nappanee, IN and was a lifetime resident of the Nappanee area. Mary married Homer Yoder on November 3, 1956. He preceded her in death on September 8, 1997.

Mary had worked as a seamstress at Newmar and was a member of the former North Main Street Mennonite Church. She enjoyed sewing, cross stitch, and flowers.

Mary is survived by a son, Roger Yoder of Nappanee, IN; a daughter, Tamara (Ed) Bontrager of Warsaw, IN; a grandson, Nathan Calhoun of Indianapolis, IN; and a brother, Andy (Linda) Farmwald of Milford, IN.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Tobias, and brother, Oliver Farmwald.

Maurice Kay Yoder, 78, of Topeka, died at 11:09 am, on Saturday, February 19, at Parkview Randallia Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born on April 9, 1943, in Sturgis, MI, to Raphael and Nora (Frey) Yoder.

Surviving are two brothers, Fred Yoder and Gordon Yoder both of Topeka; nephew, Sheldon (Kristie) Kresse of Elkhart; niece, Michelle (Kurt) Walker of Wolcottville; brother-in-law, Moe Miller of Middlebury.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Cheryl Miller.

Maurice graduated from Shipshewana High School in 1961. Following high school, he completed his 1-W Service in Colorado and then joined the wheat harvest out west. He then attended Goshen College. Maurice then joined the family's dairy farm business in 1970.

The family will hold private services. Burial will be in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana. Memorials may be given to Parkview Home Health and Hospice, 1900 Carew Street Ste. 6, Fort Wayne, IN 46805.

Melvin “Jim” Yoder, 82, of Goshen died Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Goshen Hospital.

He was born January 26, 1940 in Middlebury to Manas E. and Louise (Schwietert) Yoder.

On July 3, 1960 he married Anna Mae Mast in Goshen.

She survives along with three children, Jodie (Greg) Robinson of Clare, Michigan, Patti (Phil) Miller of Middlebury, and Jeff (Beth) Yoder of Goshen; six grandchildren, Grant (Rachelle) Yoder, Garrett (Meghan) Yoder, Whitney Yoder, Amber (Jake) Wendt, Erinne (fiancé, Steve) Ernster and Keli Miller; and a great-grandson, Lincoln James Yoder.

Also surviving are two sisters, Leanna (Raymond) Yoder of Loogootee, and Becky (Edward) Arnold of Goshen; two brothers, John (Margaret) Yoder and David (Patty) Yoder, both of Middlebury; a sister-in-law, Elaine Yoder of Middlebury; and a brother-in-law, John Boley of British Columbia.

Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Yoder and a sister, Arlene Boley.

A life-long area resident, Mr. Yoder worked as a supervisor at Troyer Products, Elkhart prior to his retirement. He was a member at North Goshen Mennonite Church, Goshen for many years and currently was attending Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. Jim was a faithful participant in Bible Study Fellowship. He enjoyed hunting and being able to volunteer at LoveWay, Inc., connecting with clients and taking care of the therapy horses.

Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather, always interested in his family’s activities. He shared his interest in old engines, particularly steam engines with those around him.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen.

Burial will take place 9 a.m. Thursday, February 24, at Violett Cemetery, Goshen, followed by an 11 a.m. Celebration of Life service at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, 64901 C. R. 11, Goshen. Pastor Wes Bontreger will officiate.

Milo W. Yoder, 83, of LaGrange, IN (district: 13), died at 2:05 am on Thursday, August 25, his residence. He was born on September 5, 1938, in Holmes County, OH, to Wyman and Sarah (Hochstetler) Yoder.

Surviving are four brothers, Dan Yoder of Topeka, Fred (Elsie) Yoder of LaGrange, Wyman, Jr. (Ruby) Yoder of Topeka, Paul (Miriam) Yoder of LaGrange; great-nephew and caregiver, Ernest (Ruth Etta) Yoder of LaGrange; 28 nephews and nieces.

Omer Jay “O.J.” Yoder, 66, of Elkhart died Friday, September 2, 2022 at Majestic Care of Goshen.

He was born January 27, 1956 in Goshen to Chris W. and Sadie W. (Yoder) Yoder.

On June 4, 1994 he married Rebecca (Thompson) Perkey in Elkhart. She died January 22, 2017.

Survivors include step-children, Dawn (George) Cook of Mottville, Michigan, Richard Rondot and Timothy Rondot, both of Elkhart; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sisters, Lydia Bontrager of Sarasota, Florida, Esther (Dennis) Alwine of Goshen and Karen (George) English of Dallas, Georgia; a brother, Perry (Joyce) Yoder of Marietta, South Carolina; brother-in-law, Clifford (Sheri) Thompson of Elkhart; and three sisters-in-law, Sharon Yoder of Elkhart, Glenda Varga of Alabama and Peggy (Steven) Foust of Aurora, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Yoder.

O.J. attended Silverwood Mennonite Church and worked as a metal fabricator for many years. He was an avid Harley motorcyclist and member of ABATE. O.J. enjoyed traveling and was a proficient artist and woodworker.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 7, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. There will also be an hour of visitation Thursday, prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service, at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Violett Cemetery at a later date.

Yordy, Ruth Miller
December 29, 1922 – November 29, 2022

Surrounded by members of her family, Ruth Miller Yordy passed away peacefully on November 29, 2022, at the age of 99. Ruth was born to Malvin and Anna Miller on the family farm in Middlebury, Indiana, on December 29,1922.

The eldest of five siblings, she developed a strong work ethic, careful attention to detail, and caring spirit contributing to the well being of her family and Mennonite Community. After graduating from Shipshewana High School, she entered Goshen College in the secretarial studies program.

While at Goshen, Ruth met and fell in love with Richard Yordy, who would become her husband of nearly 50 years.

Together they raised three sons, Alan, Philip and David, while Richard served as a Mennonite Pastor in congregations across the midwestern United States and Ruth served as administrative assistant for several small businesses, the Champaign, Illinois School District and Hesston College.

Ruth enjoyed cooking, tending roses, playing dominoes and spending time with family. She was known for her homemade cinnamon rolls and spotlessly clean kitchens and homes. She welcomed neighbors and friends to her table with open arms and participated in many church activities.

She was an invaluable part of Richard's pastoral ministry preparing bulletins, managing correspondence and accompanying him in outreach. When that ministry took them to St Jacobs, Ontario in 1977, Ruth became part of that community, which nourished her for the rest of her life.

A few years after Richard's passing, Ruth married Lester Kropf from Albany, Oregon. This started a new chapter of her life, splitting time between two communities and extended families.

The connections between the Kropf and Yordy clans became a blessing to the entire family. Ruth will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. She is predeceased by two siblings, Dan Miller and Mary Jean Schrock and her husbands, Richard Yordy and Lester Kropf.

She will be missed tenderly by her two living siblings, Carroll Miller and Eloise Miller Schrock; her sons and their spouses, Alan Yordy and Joan Kropf, Phil and Jan Yordy and Dave and Marilyn Yordy; her three grandchildren, Christopher, Rachel, and Hannah Caldwell (husband, Mason) and great-grandson, Emory Caldwell.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, 1308 King St. N., St. Jacobs, Ontario on December 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.

Donations may be made in Ruth’s memory to the Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana and the Ralph and Eileen Lebold Endowment at Conrad Grebel University.

Zehr, Donald P.
June 11, 1927 - June 8 2022

Donald P. Zehr, 94, of Lititz, PA, passed away on June 8, 2022 at the United Zion Retirement Community surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Jean L. (Snyder) Zehr of Lititz, his son and daughter-in-law Philip and Eileen Zehr of Canastota, NY, his daughter Kathy Zehr of Lancaster, and his daughter and son-in-law Linda and George Langdon of Shelburne, VT, six grandchildren, a great-grandchild, four siblings, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Jonathan Zehr and five siblings.

Donald was born in Lewis County, NY, to the late Christian and Martha Zehr. He was raised on a dairy farm and learned the building trades and carpentry. In the 1950's he volunteered with the Mennonite Mission Board to provide housing for communities in Illinois and along the US-Mexican border. That is where he met his wife Jean, who also volunteered with the unit in Mathis, TX. They were married at the Neffsville Mennonite Church in 1957.

Donald worked as a carpenter in the Lititz area. In 1974, he returned with his family to dairy farming in NY. He loved his family and enjoyed his woodlot in the Adirondacks, gardening, his dogs, and reading about history and hunting adventures. In his retirement years he baked his own recipe for "Grandpa" cookies, did Sudoku puzzles daily, and designed and crafted intricate pieced wooden bowls, baskets, and furniture.

A memorial service will be on June 23, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Neffsville Mennonite Church, 2371 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care, www.hospiceandcommunitycare.org , 685 Good Dr., Lancaster, PA 17601.

Zehr, Fannie Mae Yoder
July 11, 1927 - January 23, 2022

Fannie Mae (Yoder) Zehr, 94, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 23, 2022. She entered into eternal rest peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. She had been a resident of Topeka for over 60 years before retiring to Greencroft. She was a member of Maple Grove Church, Topeka.

Fannie Mae was born July 11, 1927 in Nappanee to Joseph J. and Amelia Schmucker Yoder. She was second oldest of eight children and is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ernest Tobias Yoder; a sister, Clara Elizabeth Yoder; a grandson, Joshua Glenn Zehr; a granddaughter, Katherine “Kate” Zehr Rabin and her beloved husband, David Zehr, Jr.

Fannie is survived by three brothers, Raymond Joseph Yoder, Everett Ray Yoder and Earl Lee Yoder; two sisters, Etta Fern Gingerich and Katie Marie Miller; her children, Sandra Faye (Dennis) Zehr, Norman, South Carolina, Joyce Carol (Donald) Zehr, Bush, Florida, Gary Lee (Linda Miller) Zehr, Evansville, Glenn Ray Zehr, Goshen and Donald Wayne Zehr, Plainfield. Fannie, devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, is fondly remembered by 11 grandchildren and over 23 great and great-great-grandchildren.

Fannie married David Zehr, Jr. on May 20, 1945 and they settled in Topeka where they lived and raised their children. Together Fannie and David stood firm in their Christian belief, serving the church, Christ and the community. They helped children in the grandparent program at Topeka Elementary and were founding charter members of the Topeka Historical Society. Fannie headed up the church food committee, the quilting program and taught Sunday School for many years at Maple Grove Mennonite Church, Topeka. This was Fannie’s passion, to serve the Lord and set a Christian example to all, especially her children.

Visitation will be Friday, January 28, 2022, from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. A private family graveside service and burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Topeka. Pastor Jason Gingerich, Topeka, will officiate both services.

Memorial donations in Fannie’s memory may be given to the Zehr Foundation or Greencroft Foundation.

Abram Z. Zimmerman, 68, of Ephrata passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at home.

He was born on November 7, 1953 in Bethel Township, Lebanon Co, PA, the son of the late Elmer Eli and late Esther M (Zimmerman) Zimmerman.

Abram was a member of the Martindale Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference). He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Nolt) Zimmerman, whom he married on July 10, 1976. He was formerly employed as a truck driver for Keystone Mills.

He is survived by six children: Carolyn Zimmerman, Denver; Lamar (Nancy Nolt) Zimmerman, Narvon; Jodene (Jack) Boorse, Narvon; Marylou Zimmerman, Denver; Linford (Andrea Groff), Lake Ariel; and Kevin Lee Zimmerman, Ephrata; six granddaughters: Kathryn, Samantha, Michaela Zimmerman and Lea, Ela, Ava Boorse; brothers: Elmer (Vera Reiff) Zimmerman and Wayne (Arlene Zimmerman) Zimmerman, both of Lebanon, and a sister-in-law, Arlene (Reiff) Zimmerman, Myerstown.

He is preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Zimmerman; a sister, Martha Zimmerman; a brother, Rufus Zimmerman, and sister-in-law, Rosanna (Hoover) Zimmerman.

Anna B. (Rutt) Zimmerman, 90, of Fleetwood, passed away on March 30, 2022 in her residence. Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late John N. and Lydia M. (Burkholder) Rutt. She was the loving wife of the late Irvin N. Zimmerman, with whom she married on March 20, 1954 and shared sixty years of marriage until the time of his passing on June 16, 2014.

She was a member of Walnuttown Mennonite Church in Fleetwood.

Anna is survived by her children; Leonard R. Zimmerman of Denver, Eli Clair husband of Barbara S. (Seibel) Zimmerman of Fleetwood, Irvin N., Jr. husband of Janelle K. (Weaver) Zimmerman of Ephrata and RoseAnn R. wife of Lloyd R. Blyer of Choteau, MT, thirteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings; Elam B. widower of Joann M. Rutt of Ephrata, Leah B. wife of Clair S. Zimmerman of Ephrata, Luella B. wife of Glenn M. Zimmerman of Lebanon, Francis B. wife of Phares Z. Musser of Newmanstown and Marlene B. widow of Marlin L. Martin of Schaefferstown and a foster brother; W. Leonard Litzenberger of Ephrata.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she is predeceased by three infant children; Wilbur R. Zimmerman, Clifford R. Zimmerman and Dorcas R. Zimmerman and siblings; Irvin B. husband of Mary E. (Hursh) Rutt, Alverta B. wife of John W. Burkholder and Earl B. Rutt.

Arlene W. Zimmerman, 61, of Ephrata, died Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of Isaac N. Zimmerman and the late Mabel M. (Weiler) Zimmerman.

Arlene was a schoolteacher for more than 35 years, serving in several schools. She was a member of Martindale Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.

Surviving is her father, Isaac, married to Ella Z. (Hurst) Zimmerman, Ephrata, four siblings: James W. married to Sharon Zimmerman, Salem, WV, Lorraine W. married to Gerald Hursh, Lititz, Leon W. married to Bertha Zimmerman, Stevens, Leonard W. married to Robin Zimmerman, Denver and 21 nephews and nieces.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Albert W. Zimmerman.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Martindale Mennonite Church with Bishop Amos G. Martin, Walter Martin, Wilmer Martin and Paul Hurst officiating. Edna L. Zimmerman, 89, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 20, 2022.

She was the wife of the late Earl Sensenig and the late Frank Zimmerman.

Edna is survived by her children, A. Jean, wife of Sanford Martin, John, husband of Lucy (Weaver) Zimmerman, Marilyn, wife of Eugene Martin, M. Jean, wife of Frank Shank, Kurt, husband of Melody (Hurst) Zimmerman and Janet Zimmerman.

She was affectionately known as Granny to 23 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.

Edna was a longtime member of Hammer Creek Mennonite Church. She spent many winters enjoying the sunny warm weather in Pinecraft Florida.

She was the daughter of the late Eli and Macie (Longenecker) Hess. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Emma.

Granny was a friend to many and prayer warrior to all. She loved the Lord and witnessed for Him even during her last days. She always said "If I can't do anything, at least I can pray."

Our entire family wants to extend our gratitude to Deb Newell for her companionship and late in life care to Edna. The family would also like to thank Caring Hospice of Lancaster and the ICU staff at UPMC Lititz.

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Hammer Creek Mennonite Church, 590 Hammer Creek Road, Lititz. An additional viewing will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, from 9 to 10 AM at the church, followed by funeral services at 10:00 AM with Pastor Leonard Rutt officiating. She was born in East Earl, Lancaster County, to the late Paul B. Nolt and Lydia Ann (Martin) Nolt. She was the wife of Edwin H. Zimmerman with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.

She was a homemaker and a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conf.).

Hettie M. Zimmerman, 90, of Ephrata, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at home. She was born in Lancaster County to the late Walter Z. and Lizzie B. (Martin) Wenger and was the wife of the late Enos N. Zimmerman.

She was a member of Groffdale Old Order Mennonite Church. Hettie was a homemaker.

Hettie is survived by three daughters, Ella Zimmerman, Esther Zimmerman, and Elizabeth Zimmerman, all of Ephrata.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Martin Wenger, Menno Wenger, Harvey Wenger, Joseph Wenger, Levi M. Wenger, John Wenger, and three sisters, Annie Zeiset, Mary Wenger, Lydia Wenger. She was the last of her family.

Zimmerman, Janet A.
June 1, 1943 - October 8, 2022

Janet A. Zimmerman, 79, of Lititz, and formerly of Manheim; beloved mother, and grandmother, died peacefully on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Moravian Manor Retirement Communities. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late David M. and Grace A. Heistand Zimmerman.

Janet graduated from Eastern Mennonite University with a bachelor's degree in education. Through the Eastern Mennonite Missions, Janet taught at Roslyn Academy in Nairobi, Kenya. She also taught at Manheim Christian Day School, and Linville Mennonite School in Southern Lancaster County. For many years she was involved with the Head Start Program for all of Lancaster County as well as the Community Action Program. She was a member of Pursuit Church, Manheim and was a representative for the Mennonite Central Committee. Janet had a deep and caring interest in people and was involved in "Healing Word Ministries" in Central PA.

Surviving is a daughter, Joy W. Zimmerman of Lititz, two sons: Walter E. husband of Jen Zimmerman of Lititz, Jason E. Zimmerman of Atlanta, GA, eight grandchildren: Natasha, Marcus, Wyleisha, Kai, Jasiah, Payton, Wesley, Jason Jr., two brothers: David K. husband of Ruth Zimmerman, of Lititz, Wilbur L. husband of Judith Zimmerman of Ephrata, and two sisters: D. Pauline Zimmerman of Lancaster, Vivian C. wife of Jeffrey L. Kessler of Manheim.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Janet's funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 10:30 AM. Jenica Faith Zimmerman, 16, of Lebanon, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 3, 2022 in the Hershey Medical Center. She was born in Myerstown on May 22, 2005, daughter of Albert R. and Carolyn F. Huber Zimmerman of Lebanon. Jenica was employed by Green Acres Lawn Care and a member of Fairview Mennonite Church of Weaverland Conference.

Surviving in addition to her parents are maternal grandparents, Lester and Janet Wenger Huber of Myerstown; paternal grandparents, David E. and Mildred Rutt Zimmerman of Lebanon; siblings, Rodney, Derek, Lachell, Jessalyn, Shalyn and Alisha Zimmerman; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Jeremy M. Zimmerman, 19, of Maxatawny Township, died as the result of injuries sustained in a work accident on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Born in Maxatawny Township, Jeremy was a son of Nathan B. and RoseAnna H. (Martin) Zimmerman, with whom he resided. He was a member of Walnuttown Mennonite Church, Fleetwood.

Jeremy was employed as an agricultural equipment mechanic for SunnySide Ag Service, Fleetwood.

In addition to his parents, Jeremy is survived by brothers: Wendal M. Zimmerman; Benjamin M. Zimmerman; Micaiah M. Zimmerman; Jarell M. Zimmerman; and a sister: Amy J. Zimmerman. Other survivors include his maternal grandparents, Arlene S. (Hurst), widow of Melvin N. Martin, Seneca Falls, NY; paternal grandparents, Moses S. and Wilma W. (Burkholder) Zimmerman, Kutztown.

Funeral services for Jeremy will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. in Walnuttown Mennonite Church, 1219 Pleasant Hill Road, Fleetwood, with Bishop Leon S. Zimmerman, officiating. Zimmerman, JoAnn Hess
April 25, 1936 - December 23, 2022

JoAnn H. Zimmerman, 86, formerly of Mount Joy, went to be with her Lord & Savior, Friday, December 23, 2022, at Landis Homes, Lititz. She was the loving wife of Earl B. Zimmerman, and they celebrated 65 years of marriage this past July. Born in Mount Joy, she was the daughter of the late Miller M. and Almeda (Ruhl) Hess. Before retiring, JoAnn was a manager for the Christian Light Book Store. She was a graduate of Lancaster Mennonite High School, class of 1953. JoAnn was an active member of Mount Joy Mennonite Church where she was involved as minister of worship, chairman of the sewing circle, sang with the worship team, and the Christian Women's Connection. Her hobbies included traveling,
reading, and quilting.

Surviving in addition to husband Earl, are two sons, Jeffrey H. Zimmerman, Mount Joy, Gregory H. husband of Kathryn (Reitz) Zimmerman, Bloomsburg; three grandsons, Andrew R. (Kaitlyn), Joseph R. and David R. Zimmerman; and four sisters, Arlene Trimmer, Temple, PA, Anna Mary Glazewski, Rapid City, SD, Janet Nerling, Silver City, NM, and Carole Farrow, Deming, NM.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at the Mount Joy Mennonite Church, 320 Musser Road, Mount Joy, on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Martha W. Zimmerman, 80, of Ephrata, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at her home after a lengthy illness.

Born in West Earl Township, she was the daughter of the late Titus W. and Katie S. (Weaver) Zimmerman.

She was a member of the Conestoga Old Order Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

Martha worked at Landis Homes for many years.

Martha is survived by a brother, Amos, husband of Lydia Mae (Nolt) Zimmerman of Penn Yan, NY; four sisters, Katie Sauder of Ephrata, Lena Zimmerman of New Holland, Elsie Zimmerman of Ephrata, Amanda, wife of Mervin Myer of Quarryville; a sister-in-law, Lena (Weaver) Zimmerman of Lititz; 19 nieces and 21 nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Aaron W. Zimmerman, and four sisters, Ella W. Zimmerman, Edna Horst, Eva Sauder, and Annie Stauffer.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 4 to 8 PM at the late residence, 371 Goods Road, Ephrata. Matthew L. Zimmerman, 44, of Denver, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at home.

He was born in Ephrata to Ivan H. and Mildred S. (Martin) Zimmerman and was the husband of S. Renee (Reiff) Zimmerman with whom he shared 23 years of marriage.

He was a member of Cocalico Mennonite Church, Denver.

Matthew was a taxidermist.

In addition to his wife and parents, Matthew is survived by four children, Shane A., husband of Kayla J. (Martin) Zimmerman of Ephrata, Mikayla J. Zimmerman, Kiara R. Zimmerman, and Ashley K. Zimmerman, all at home; three siblings, Jonathan L., husband of Rochelle Z. (Nolt) Zimmerman, Mary Beth, wife of Sheldon Zimmerman, Michael S., husband of Carla L. (Martin) Zimmerman; his in-laws, Leland H. and Janet N. (Martin) Reiff; sister-in-law, Delores J. (Reiff), wife of Carl J. High and brother-in-law, Leland R., husband of Sharlene F. (Martin) Reiff.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ivan and Ruth (Horst) Zimmerman, and his maternal grandparents, Clayton S. and Rachel (Stauffer) Martin.

Zimmerman, Raymond H.
March 28, 1933 - February 11, 2022

Raymond H. Zimmerman, 88, of Brethren Village formerly of New Holland Pike, Lancaster, passed into eternity on February 11, 2022. He was the son of the late Jacob and Anna (Horning) Zimmerman. Raymond was the loving husband of the late Phyllis M. Bare Zimmerman who died in 2020.

He worked as a master woodworker for Kreider Bros. Millwork. He was a member of Conestoga Church of the Brethren, past Deacon, sang in the choir and was known for his bass voice. For 65 years he sang with the quartet "The Conestoga Four".

He will be lovingly missed by: two daughters, Lee married to Robert Murray of Seattle, WA, Jere married to Dale Zimmerman of Reinholds; four grandchildren, Heather (Will) Song, Erin (Howard) Murray, Steven (Sarah) Zimmerman, Erika (Eric) Sifford; six great-grandsons, Isaiah, Bruce, Magnus, Nolan, Rodrick, Maxwell; siblings, Mary Edna married to Jay Martin, Fairmount Homes, Evie married to the late Paul Bollinger, Leola, Lewis married to Marie Zimmerman, Grand Prairie, TX. A great-granddaughter, Gemma Hope Sifford preceded him in death.

Vera H. Zimmerman, 78, of Ephrata, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022, at her residence.

She was born in Bareville to the late Aaron R. and Minnie N. (Hoover) Zimmerman.

Vera was a member of Conestoga Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference

Vera is survived by five brothers and three sisters, Cora H. Kilmer of Versailles, MO, Elizabeth H. Zimmerman of Ephrata, PA, Ella Mae (Elvin) Hoover of Ephrata, Elam H. Zimmerman of Narvon, Edwin H. Willis N. Zimmerman, 84, of East Earl, passed away on May 27, 2022 at Wellspan Ephrata Hospital.

Born in Earl Township, he was the son of the late Elam E. and Katie B. (Nolt) Zimmerman.

He was the husband of Amanda M. (Leinbach) Zimmerman, with whom he married on December 1, 1959 and shared sixty-two years of marriage.

Willis was a member of Weaverland Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference) and retired as a farmer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Samuel husband of Esther (Horning) Zimmerman of East Earl, PA, Katie wife of Melvin Brubaker of Narvon, PA, Susie wife of Edward Zimmerman of Plymouth, OH, Rufus husband of Susan (Weaver) Zimmerman of New Enterprise, PA, Warren husband of Erma (Reiff) Zimmerman of New Enterprise, PA, Roy husband of Suetta (Horning) Zimmerman of East Earl, PA, Etta wife of Raymond Zimmerman of Penn Yan, NY, Lee husband of Lucy (Weaver) Zimmerman of New Enterprise, PA, Ivan husband of Lois (Reiff) Zimmerman of Penn Yan, NY, Alta wife of Wilmer Zimmerman of Terre Hill, PA, eighty-nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings: Rufus Zimmerman, Martha Zimmerman, Etta Zimmerman, Alta Zimmerman, Ruth Horning, Ellen Horning, Wayne Zimmerman, Elvin Zimmerman and Leon Zimmerman.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a daughter: Ella Mae Zimmerman, a son-in-law: Melvin Zimmerman, a grandson: John Ray Zimmerman and a brother: Leroy Zimmerman.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 9:30 AM at Weaverland Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference), 1116 Weaverland Road, East Earl, PA 17519 with Bishop Titus Martin officiating. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 2-4 PM and 6-8PM at the late home.

Zook, Ida Mae

Ida Mae Zook, 61, of Mifflinburg, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, at her home.

She was born March 15, 1961, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late David Y. and Cora E. (Yoder) Zook.

Ida was a member of the Millmont Mennonite Church.

She was employed as a house cleaner until 2013 until her health forced her to retire.

Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, David Jr. and Thelma Zook of Middleburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Roger Laudenslager of Sunbury; and six nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Hostetler.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the Millmont Mennonite Church, 1250 Millmont Road, where the service will be conducted at 10 a.m. with Millmont Mennonite ministry officiating.

Burial will be in the Millmont Mennonite Church Cemetery.
